Γιατί εμάς; Why families choose us

A proper school. A second family.

Run by a committee of parents and dedicated teachers, The Greek Academy gives children real progress in Greek — and real pride in where they come from.

📖

The language Η γλώσσα

A structured curriculum matched to each child's age and ability, following the same standards as other Greek schools in London — from first words in nursery all the way to a GCSE qualification.

💃

The culture Ο πολιτισμός

Dancing, plays, celebrations and traditions all year round — Christmas and 25th of March performances, and a summer play and BBQ to end the year together.

🤝

The community Η παρέα

Assembly and prayers bring the whole school together each week. Add the famous tuck shop at break time, and Tuesday quickly becomes the evening the children look forward to most.

Οι τάξεις μας Our classes

One journey, from first words to GCSE.

Children join at any age and progress through classes grouped by age and ability. Every class takes a twenty-minute dance lesson as part of the evening, and textbooks and exercise books are provided by the school.

Three hours, well spent.

Assembly & prayers

The whole school starts the evening together, led by our head teacher.

Lessons begin

Teachers escort each class to their room for the evening's learning — and every class takes a twenty-minute dance lesson too.

Break & tuck shop

Twenty minutes each, staggered: Nursery to Year 3 from 6:20, Year 4 to GCSE from 6:40. Snacks, water and pocket-money treats — often the highlight of the week.

Home time

Teachers bring the children back to the hall for pick-up.

Ο χορός μας Dance at The Greek Academy

Twenty minutes a week that end up on stage.

Dance isn't an add-on here — it's part of every child's Tuesday. Every class takes a twenty-minute dance lesson alongside their language work, learning the traditional dances of Greece and Cyprus.

🎵

Every class, every week Κάθε τάξη

From nursery through to GCSE, every class dances for twenty minutes each Tuesday evening — built into the school evening alongside the language lessons, not run as an extra.

💃

Greek and Cypriot dances Παραδοσιακοί χοροί

The children learn the traditional dances of Greece and Cyprus, part of the cultural programme that runs right through the school year alongside the curriculum.

🎭

Their moment on stage Στη σκηνή

What they practise on a Tuesday is what families see at the Christmas and 25th of March performances, the summer play, and the TGA Dinner & Dance.
